Seashell Day using Sand & Sea Suite

Hello my friends and welcome to a wonderful May day. Did you know Seashell Day falls on the first day of Summer which is June 20th.

When I think of summer, I think of walking barefoot in the sand, carring a bucket to look for seashells. Did you know there is a group of people called Shellers? Shellers are beachcomers who collect seashells by scouring the beaches for them that the snails and mollusks have left behind.

Some of the most common seashells that shellers try to find are the true tulip, lettered olive which is as mesmerizing than the ocean sunset and sometimes they run across a rare or unique shell. Beachcomers are dazzled by the kings crown conch, apple murex and even the pear welk. The best place for seashells is the beach of Sanibel.

For my project, I wanted something that would fit in with my tier tray, each month I decorate for a season or holiday and this months theme is sand and sea. I wanted something simple to compliment the tray. I found some picture frames that I had in a box and felt that one of them would do. I added the Sand and Sea DSP and then using the Pearlescent Specialty paper I embossed it with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. I then cut it out with the Seaside Seashell dies. I then used the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set and stamped each shell in, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia and then added some 2021-2023 In-Color Jewels.
