Our theme for this months hop is coloring and I chose to use the Stampin’ Blends markers and I combined it with our team challenge for this month also. Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers help you create highlights and shadows for a 3D coloring effect. In order to acheive this 3D effect you need a light and dark of the same colors.

Our team leader sent us a few elements for us to create a card. We recieved a few images from the Happy Holly Days stamp set #156342 page 27 of the holiday catalog, a piece of dsp from the Painted Christmas on page 17 #156292 and piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon #152462.

The cardbase is Balmy Blue, cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I used Stampin Blends Polished Pink light and dark, Evening Evergreen light and dark on the holly. For the bird I used Cinnamon Cider light and dark. I used my scan n cut to cut out the sentiment and a punch for the SAB Be Dazzling piece for the sentiment and holly (do not forget to place your $50.00 to get the Be Dazzling free, it is currently on the low order status, so order soon!) I took the ribbon and wrapped it around the bird, he is ready for Christmas, did you know we only have 14 fridays till Christmas?
I popped everything up with dimensionals. I think this bird is the cuteset! Now on to our next hop design team member Karen Egan.
