This next card features the Log Cabin quilt design. Have a quilt that my great-grandmother made me when I was born: the Log Cabin. I no longer use it because the threading is breaking, and it is well-loved for being a fifty-five-year-old quilt. Great-grandmother was blind; she could only see shapes and figures in black and white. She learned what colors were by the shades of black and white she was seeing. It was amazing that she could quilt with this disability. She was a devout child of God and believed everything, including her eyesight, was a blessing. I am very blessed to have her as my great g. When she came to Ohio after my great-grandfather passed away, I was blessed to read to her on Saturdays. She loved Louis L’Amour books, so she and I had grand adventures in the wild west. Whenever I see a movie based on his books, I stop and watch them in memory of her.
