Sorry I have been down with the flu, cough, sore throat and sinus infection so the doctor wants me to rest. There have been many cases of Covid, and these are some of the symptoms for it. Unfortunately, due to this, I will not have a Latte To-Go Class for July.

There will be an August class, before I got sick, I have been working on a Mystery box and Latte To-Go Class for August. I am so excited for it, and I know you will also and I am sure it will make up for missing July’s class.

Denim has been around for a long time. It was originated in France, but in 1873 it became very popular in Nevada. A tailor manufactured the first rivet-reinforced denim jeans. Jeans became popular in the work industry for their ruggedness and durability for the common laborer. Later on, denim started becoming a fashion statement. You can find denim also in everyday decor and apparel such as hair bows, jackets, curtains, blankets, bags, pillows, hats and so much more.

This now brings us to this week’s blog post of the Country Denim Days. The cards will be featuring a denim look and feel. Here is the first card for the day.

Spotlight on Nature

Using the Spotlight on Nature dies to create this simple card with the Wildly Flowering and Country Lace DSP to create the country denim days feel for this card. Know someone who loves denim and would love to receive this card? Great card for the friend who loves the country look and feel. Want to recreate this card? Below are the steps to recreate this card and do not forget to come back tomorrow to see the next card in my Country Denim Days series.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Start with a Basic White cardstock cut down to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4.”
  2. Find the Wildly Flowering DSP with blue tones and cut it down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhere to the card front with liquid glue.
  3. Now choose three different pieces of Country Lace DSP and die cut three circles in three different sizes using the Spotlight on Nature dies. Pick one of the DSP to be a solid color for stamping on.
  4. Start with the largest circle, adhere to the DSP with liquid glue, then repeat for the second circle, slightly overlapping the other (see the photo above for placement.)
  5. Stamp sentiment onto the small die cut piece in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then adhere to the card front with dimensionals (see photo above for placement.)
  6. Tie a bow using the White 1/4″ Diagonal trim and adhere above the smaller circle with a glue dot.
  7. Finally add three of the Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Pearls.

This card is so lovely and perfect for anyone who loves denim.
