Simply Zinnia Series: Tucked Basic White Card with Embossed Detail

For my next card, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock. This is my main focal point of the card. I next added a large piece of the Zinnia DSP. To hide the edges of the Zinnia DSP and the embossed image, I added a small strip of coordinating DSP.

I was looking through my stash of Basic White cardstock. I came across a piece that had a slightly angled cut edge. I laid it down on my card and continued to look for a more squared one. When I looked back at it again, I was surprised. I kind of liked how it looked on the card.

With a few tweaks, I created this look with that piece of cardstock. See how it looks like it is tucked under the strip. It is simple but has a unique impact on the card.

Step-by-Step instructions

Card base

Start with a piece of Basic White cardstock. Cut it down to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score at 4-1/4″.

Layers

Take a piece of the Zinnia purple paper and cut it down to 4″ x 2-5/8″
Cut a piece of Basic White to 4″ x 2-5/8″ and using the Zinnia embossing folder, emboss the piece
Next, take a piece of the striped green dsp and cut it to 1/2″ x 4″.
Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock down to 1″ x 2″, cut off section at an angle. Stamp sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Assemble card

Adhere embossed piece at the top and then the purple layer under it with liquid glue.
Next, add the center strip with dimensionals.
Now, add the sentiment piece just under the strip with dimensionals.
Finally, add three of the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.
