Handmade cards bring warmth, tradition, and heartfelt wishes to everyone who receives them. My card combines with traditional Christmas colors of Real Red, Basic White and Garden Green.
The stocking on my card takes center stage. The background designer series paper is a layered quilt design. The stocking features a quilted design with a stitched star detail, Real Red 1/4″ Stitched Ribbon, and Adhesive-Backed Christmas Button add charm to the card.
Why I love This Design
I love quilts, they remind me of my great-grandmother. She was partially blind; she could only see black and white images. She learned to distinguish the shades of black and whites into color. She stitched each quilt by hand. She showed that no matter what disability you had, you can still create beautiful things. She even loved to paint and her paintings were beautiful. Each time I see a quilt, I think of her.
Other Ideas for This Card
- Stamp a sentiment across the cuff of the stocking.
- Add rhinestones or gems.
- Add holly leaves to the stocking or the cuff.
- Use metallic or shimmer cardstock for extra holiday sparkle.
