Our blog hop today is to create anything but a card. I did not know what I wanted to design, but I did know I wanted to use the Celebrate Sunflowers. I have a flickering candle and felt that will work for a sunflower candle holder.
To create my candle holder, I started with a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock cut to 4″ x 4″ and scored 1″ on all sides. I then cut and mitered four of the corners. Next, I used multipurpose glue and glued the four corners to create the candle box holder.
Next, I stamped the sunflower in So Saffron onto a piece of vellum, then I die-cut it out. Next, I die-cut the sunflower outline and glued it to the vellum. I then die-cut the sunflower center in Early Espresso and glued it to the center. I did the same with the greenery in Garden Green Cardstock and glued it to the right side of the sunflower. I added some So Saffron ink behind the sunflower to help with the glow. Lastly, I added a bow from the Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon and adhered it with a mini glue dot to the front of the box.
Here is a picture showing the flickering candle behind the sunflower. Such a lovely glow with the light behind it. This would be lovely on a tiered tray. Order this set as soon as you can because Celebrate Sunflowers and Sunflower Dies are retiring along with So Saffron Cardstock, inks, and the ribbon.
