Hello and welcome to our Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We are a group of demonstrators worldwide, sharing our passion for Stampin’ Up! We post twice a month on the first and third Saturday of the month. Each month a theme, technique, card, color, sketch and more is assigned. If you are new here, “Welcome.” If you are a subscriber, “Welcome back.” We know you will enjoy seeing our beautiful creations.
Today’s hop we are featuring items that are retiring from the annual catalog. I created this card using Parakeet Party Cardstock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ as the card base. I then used the retiring Split Card Texture Dies to die-cut the front of the card. I then took a piece of the retiring Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper, cut it to 5-1/4″ x 4 ” and adhere it to the back with multipurpose glue,e and repeated with a piece of Parakeet Party Cardstock.
Next, I die-cut the pansy from the Pansy Patch in the retiring Polished Pink Cardstock with some Basic White Cardstock for the accent pieces to the pansy. I pieced the pansy together and set it aside. Next, I cut a piece of Polished Pink Cardstock 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and adhered it to the card front about a little less than halfway. I then took a piece of the retiring Pale Papaya 1/2″ Faux Velvet Ribbon with tear and tape and apply it to the left side of the card.
I was not sure what I wanted to pair with the pansy. So, looking through my stamps I saw I had not used the Sweet Citrus bundle which is retiring. The stamp set and dies will be available in the new catalog separately. So, if you want to save 10%, buy the bundle now!
I stamped the rind and the inside of the citrus in Parakeet Party ink, I thought it would make great limes. After stamping them, I then put them in the embossing folder with the matching die inserted into the folder and passed it through the embossing machine. Love that it cuts and embosses all at once!
Now I started adhering the pansy and limes to the card front. I started with the limes first. Starting from right to left I added each lime with multipurpose glue except for the slice, I popped it up with dimensionals onto the Polished Pink layer. Next using dimensionals again, I added the pansy just above the largest lime.
Next, I stamped the sentiment “Sending you a big squeeze” from the Sweet Citrus stamp set in Polished Pink ink. I then cut it into a rectangle, sorry I forgot to write down the dimensions of the rectangle. I then added a couple of dimensionals to the bottom of the rectangle and added it to the card front just a bit over the limes to finish it. I love how my card turned out! Would you have used this color combo?

Now let us hop on over to Kelly Taranto of the Late Night Stamper.
