Hello and welcome to our Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We are a group of demonstrators worldwide, sharing our passion for Stampin’ Up! We post twice a month on the first and third Saturday of the month. Each month a theme, technique, card, color, sketch and more is assigned. For today’s hop, we are to create a fractured card. You may be asking yourself, “What is a fractured card?” Another name for this card is Faux shutter. This looks complicated but it is actually easy to make.

Supplies:

• Copper Clay Cardstock
• Very Vanilla Cardstock
• Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper
• Speckled Adhesive Backed Dots
• Tuxedo Black Ink
• Distressed Tin Foil Embossing Folder
• Multipurpose glue

Steps:

1. Cut copper clay cardstock 5-1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4-1/4.”
2. Cut the very vanilla cardstock to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and run it through the embossing folder.
3. Cut a piece of copper clay 2″ x 2″ square, stamp the sentiment in the black ink, and place it in the center of the very vanilla piece with multipurpose glue.
4. Now cut 4 strips of the oxidized copper paper 3/4″ x 5.” Starting with one corner of the square adhere a strip (see photo) with glue. Continue this all around the square. Trim off any excess overhang.
5. Add the very vanilla to the card front with glue. Finally, add the speckled dots.
6. Cut another piece of very vanilla 5-1/4″ x 4″ and insert it on the inside with glue (optional decorate the inside.)

See it is easy peasy, have fun with it. Here is another one using DSP instead. There are so many possibilities with this technique.
