We’re enjoying the arrival of warm weather here in Ohio. Today, the temperature reached a comfortable seventy-four degrees. What’s the weather like in your area?

Since spring is finally here, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and tackle some serious spring cleaning around the house. And after a long day of hard work, there’s nothing like treating ourselves to some delicious ice cream. We were thrilled to discover that DQ is reintroducing the cherry 🍒 coating for their dipped cones. What a delightful surprise!

This brings us to our project for the day. Made this delightful ice cream box, and it holds a strawberry 🍓 gelato Chapstick.

Tutorial:

  • Start by die-cutting the cone from Wild Wheat and cut on half. Stamp the cone pattern in Pecan Pie on to one of the cones.
  • Stamp the ice cream swirl in Pecan Pie on to Basic White cardstock.  Using the Bubble Bath Stampin Blends, start coloring in each section, starting with the dark and then light, and continuing to alternate them.
  • Stamp three berries in Sweet Sorbet ink on to Basic White cardstock. Color two of them in dark bubble bath and one in light. Fussy cut them out, cutting off the stems. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Using liquid glue add the ice cream to one of the cones.
  • Now, to create the box, you will need two pieces of Wild Wheat cardstock (ran out of WW, so used BW, see photo). 3″ x 4″ pieces to create the top and bottom. Score on all 4 sides at 1/2″. Take one of the pieces and just cut a sliver off of each side. This will help it to slide into the other half of the box a little easier.
  • Next cut on the red lines and burnish all fold lines. Adhesive to the ends marked with a green x. Now adhere to each of the cones.
  • Take six inches of each color of the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack (Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly) and tie into a bow. Trim off any excess and add to the cone with a glue dot.
  • Add your ChapStick and close the box. Look how delicious it is!
