Faux Step Card

I have chosen to create a faux step card. This card is very easy to make and quick. Chose to add a calendar to my card. I will be mailing these out to my customers. I will also use them for a team swap with the new products from the spring mini catalog. The catalog launches on January 7th.

I am using the Floral Delight Suite of products for my project. It consists of tiny bees, Daffodil Delight Ribbon, and Delightful Wishes bundle. The colors are beautiful in the suite. They include Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Pecan Pie, Old Olive, and Pool Party.

Delightful Wishes

I substituted two colors; I am using Crushed Curry for my base pieces and Mossy Meadow ink for my sentiment. These two colors also work well together with this suite.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Start with a piece of cardstock and cut it to 4-1/4″ x 9″ scored at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, and 5-3/4″. When folded it should look like the picture above.

Cut another piece of the same color at 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 5-1/2″. Should look like the picture above when folded.

Now cut the DSP of choice. Two pieces 3″ x 4″ and one piece 1″ x 4″. Now cut a piece of coordinating cardstock for the DSP pieces to be layered on. Two pieces 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ and one 1-1/8″ x 4-1/8″.

Add the large pieces to the front and back. See picture below for placement.

Next adhere the front to the back. Glue the bottom section only.

Now glue the back and only on the bottom section. It will not cover the entire back. See picture below (the white piece is just to show that it is a small edge.)

Adhere the small piece to the front. Add the calendar with adhesive. Die cut wishing back from Basic White and the insert in Pecan Pie. Be careful of the I’s. They are tiny. Die cut the frame from Basic White and stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow on the frame. Add it with dimensionals. Adhere the word “wishing” to the Basic White and then to the front. Tie a piece of ribbon around the front and finally add a couple of bees.

This set is a lot of fun and so springy. With the snowstorm coming, I am ready for spring. So, for now, playing with this set is as close to spring as I can get.

Now let us hop on over to our next demonstrator and see what project they have created for us.
