Welcome to the Sweet Stampede’s blog hop. We are excited you are here! If you are new, we are happy you are here. If you are a subscriber, happy to have you here. For this month’s hop we are working with a sketch.

This sketch is to be used for our starting point. We can add, subtract, or substitute shapes. We can create a simple card or step it up.
Some of the ideas that came to me for this sketch were:
- Shaker card
- Use other shapes instead of squares.
- Turn the card in the opposite direction
- Create a fun fold
- Create a slimline card
I chose to keep the design as is except for a few things. I used the decorative die to die-cut the design. Then, I added a piece of Peach Pie behind it. This emphasized the image. Layer a piece of the DSP burlap over it. I added these to the Pool Party card base.
The flowers are cut from the vellum piece , and I will elaborate more on this in the next paragraph.

Using vellum with the sketch
I had almost missed that the dies also die-cut the vellum images that are shown on page 37. The dies cut out the leaves, the single flower and the smaller flowers. The smaller flowers are individual.

Here is a closer look at these flowers.

I die cut the branch from Pecan Pie and added the leaves and individual flowers to the branch.

Stamped wishing in Mossy Meadow and die cut with the outline die only. I fussy cut the “you well” and finally, I added the bees and ribbon to finish the card.
Have you ever used a sketch to help with your creativity? Leave me a comment if you have or have not. I would love to read your thoughts on this. I enjoyed creating this card for you. Now let us hop on over to our next demonstrator, Pattie Shanahan-Davidson.
