Freshly Made Sketches is a “for fun” challenge. These challenges spark my creativity to inspire me to create my next card, box, or whatever I feel I see a creative item to complete.
Here is the sketch we are using for the challenge.

Right now, gnomes are the newest rage for crafters, from tier tray decor, cards, and ornaments, and of course, we see the traditional garden/yard gnomes that we have seen for years. I have just received the Kindest Gnomes Suite and felt they would fit well with this sketch and would be great for my first card with it. July is also Watercolor month and I knew a watercolor technique would look great with this sketch.

I am using Basic White cardstock for my card base cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4.”
A piece of watercolor paper, 5 1/4″ x 4.”

I used the colors Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, and Parakeet Party. I used a sponge to sponge the colors on the watercolor paper, then I spritzed the paper with water and let it dry. I kept doing this til I achieved the northern lights effect. After it was completely dry I then added some clear wink of stella to the sky to give it some shimmer. I wrapped some Starry Sky shimmer ribbon and tinsel ribbon around the top of the card and tied it into a knot. I then die-cut 4 gnomes from the Storybook Gnomes DSP. Popped them up with dimensional and added some of the Fine Sparkle adhesive-backed gems. I did the same for the inside of the card and stamped the sentiment in Tahitian Tide. #WatercolorStampinUp #ShareYourMoment.
