For this card we are using the negative piece of cardstock to use as our focal point and then creating around them. If you are like me most of the time you throw the negative away, but this is a way to utilize it. Do you know of other ways to utilize negative pieces? Leave me a comment on how you use them.

HIP, HIP, HOORAY!

For this card we are celebrating a special hero or friend who has always been there for us. What better way to celebrate than with a beautiful card in Peach Pie to show off! With just using the negative we can showcase the glimmer paper without overpowering it with a lot of glam. Read on to get the tutorial for this card.

Step-by-step instructions

Card base and negative

1. With a piece of Peach Pie cardstock, cut it down to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score it at 4-1/4″.
2. Next take a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it down to 5″ x 3-3/4″ and die-cut pieces out of it. See photo for what I used here. Some of the pieces will be used on the card.

Stamping sentiment

Take the sentiment and slightly curve it under the one negative and then place your stamp block over it and stamp it Tuxedo Black ink.

Decorating the card front

1. Cut a piece of Peach Pie glimmer paper down to 5-1/4″ x 4″ and adhere to card base with liquid glue.
2. Now adhere the negative piece to the center of the glimmer paper with liquid glue.
3. Taking a piece of the Peach Pie of Unbounded Beauty DSP and die cut some of the flower/starbursts. See photo.
4. Now taking the Basic White die cuts, adhere them to the open spots and if you wish, slightly overlap one of them. Next add the DSP pieces as shown in the photo.
5. Finally add three of the Adhesive-Backed Dots for Days in green to the card front to help set off the Peach Pie.
